Narrative:

While closing cabin door of light transport, the copilot started the right engine and obtained taxi clearance. Over the noise of the door motor, I heard '...via outer, november.' the copilot started taxiing while I read and performed checklists. Since the usual taxi clearance to 22R is via the OM and november, I assumed that was the runway for departure, not questioning the copilot (PF). After crossing 15R, the tower told us that we were to use 15R and make a u-turn and back-taxi down 15R. Apparently the tower gave us an intersection departure from november taxiway. This is very irregular, since I've always departed from lima or kilo, for the past yr and 2 months, on 15R. Also, our checklist isn't usually finished and engines aren't warmed up upon reaching november for a departure on 15R. The situation could have been avoided if both crew members were present at the time the taxi clearance was issued, and if a clearance doesn't appear to be 100% correct, ask for verification on the clearance. At the time of the incident. Traffic was light to nil, and no other traffic was ever in any danger from the unannounced runway crossing.

Title: UNAUTH RWY CROSSING.

Narrative: WHILE CLOSING CABIN DOOR OF LTT, THE COPLT STARTED THE RIGHT ENG AND OBTAINED TAXI CLRNC. OVER THE NOISE OF THE DOOR MOTOR, I HEARD '...VIA OUTER, NOVEMBER.' THE COPLT STARTED TAXIING WHILE I READ AND PERFORMED CHKLISTS. SINCE THE USUAL TAXI CLRNC TO 22R IS VIA THE OM AND NOVEMBER, I ASSUMED THAT WAS THE RWY FOR DEP, NOT QUESTIONING THE COPLT (PF). AFTER XING 15R, THE TWR TOLD US THAT WE WERE TO USE 15R AND MAKE A U-TURN AND BACK-TAXI DOWN 15R. APPARENTLY THE TWR GAVE US AN INTXN DEP FROM NOVEMBER TXWY. THIS IS VERY IRREGULAR, SINCE I'VE ALWAYS DEPARTED FROM LIMA OR KILO, FOR THE PAST YR AND 2 MONTHS, ON 15R. ALSO, OUR CHKLIST ISN'T USUALLY FINISHED AND ENGS AREN'T WARMED UP UPON REACHING NOVEMBER FOR A DEP ON 15R. THE SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF BOTH CREW MEMBERS WERE PRESENT AT THE TIME THE TAXI CLRNC WAS ISSUED, AND IF A CLRNC DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE 100% CORRECT, ASK FOR VERIFICATION ON THE CLRNC. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. TFC WAS LIGHT TO NIL, AND NO OTHER TFC WAS EVER IN ANY DANGER FROM THE UNANNOUNCED RWY XING.
