Narrative:

After landing with a 10 KT quartering tailwind, the control of the aircraft was transferred from the first officer, who made the approach and landing, to the captain. The aircraft began to veer to the right at which point the captain attempted to engage the nose wheel steering by pulling the speed levers to the low position. The aircraft did not respond so the override button to the nose wheel steering was depressed. This too was not effective in gaining control of the aircraft. The aircraft came to rest on the edge of the runway, the main wheels still on the pavement and the nose wheel about 4' off of the pavement. There were no injuries and no aircraft damage.

Title: LTT PARTIALLY LEAVES THE RWY ON ROLL OUT AFTER LNDG WITH A QUARTERING TAILWIND.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG WITH A 10 KT QUARTERING TAILWIND, THE CTL OF THE ACFT WAS TRANSFERRED FROM THE F/O, WHO MADE THE APCH AND LNDG, TO THE CAPT. THE ACFT BEGAN TO VEER TO THE R AT WHICH POINT THE CAPT ATTEMPTED TO ENGAGE THE NOSE WHEEL STEERING BY PULLING THE SPD LEVERS TO THE LOW POS. THE ACFT DID NOT RESPOND SO THE OVERRIDE BUTTON TO THE NOSE WHEEL STEERING WAS DEPRESSED. THIS TOO WAS NOT EFFECTIVE IN GAINING CTL OF THE ACFT. THE ACFT CAME TO REST ON THE EDGE OF THE RWY, THE MAIN WHEELS STILL ON THE PAVEMENT AND THE NOSE WHEEL ABOUT 4' OFF OF THE PAVEMENT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND NO ACFT DAMAGE.
