Narrative:

Miscom. Taxiing for takeoff to runway 19R at sna taxi uses 18L runway to get to 19R. At north end of taxiway a turn onto 19L, then a short taxi east on that runway and a left turn at the end puts you at hold short point for 19R. After turning onto 19L, first officer advised we were supposed to have held short of 19L. If that was communicated, I missed that portion of taxi clearance. We then told ground we had taxied onto 19L and then off again. He advised us to pull ahead a few more feet because there was light aircraft traffic on 2 mi final for 19L. Construction was in progress at north end of taxiway and there were no runway identify markings at that intersection depicting 19L as a runway. I mistook 19L for a parallel taxiway. This was only my second time in this airport. I feel this taxi/runway incursion was caused by: inappropriate taxi instructions, miscommunicated taxi instructions by crew, bothersome construction at taxiway end and adjacent to 19L approach end, no red/white runway identify markings signs, and blue taxi lights actually on portion of side of runway 19L (very misleading). Recommendations: mark all runway and taxiway intxns with red/white sign markers, and mark all taxiway-runway crossing areas during construction with hold short signs for further clearance.

Title: ACR MLG UNAUTH RWY CROSSING.

Narrative: MISCOM. TAXIING FOR TKOF TO RWY 19R AT SNA TAXI USES 18L RWY TO GET TO 19R. AT N END OF TXWY A TURN ONTO 19L, THEN A SHORT TAXI E ON THAT RWY AND A LEFT TURN AT THE END PUTS YOU AT HOLD SHORT POINT FOR 19R. AFTER TURNING ONTO 19L, F/O ADVISED WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE HELD SHORT OF 19L. IF THAT WAS COMMUNICATED, I MISSED THAT PORTION OF TAXI CLRNC. WE THEN TOLD GND WE HAD TAXIED ONTO 19L AND THEN OFF AGAIN. HE ADVISED US TO PULL AHEAD A FEW MORE FEET BECAUSE THERE WAS LIGHT ACFT TFC ON 2 MI FINAL FOR 19L. CONSTRUCTION WAS IN PROGRESS AT N END OF TXWY AND THERE WERE NO RWY IDENT MARKINGS AT THAT INTXN DEPICTING 19L AS A RWY. I MISTOOK 19L FOR A PARALLEL TXWY. THIS WAS ONLY MY SECOND TIME IN THIS ARPT. I FEEL THIS TAXI/RWY INCURSION WAS CAUSED BY: INAPPROPRIATE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS, MISCOMMUNICATED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS BY CREW, BOTHERSOME CONSTRUCTION AT TXWY END AND ADJACENT TO 19L APCH END, NO RED/WHITE RWY IDENT MARKINGS SIGNS, AND BLUE TAXI LIGHTS ACTUALLY ON PORTION OF SIDE OF RWY 19L (VERY MISLEADING). RECOMMENDATIONS: MARK ALL RWY AND TXWY INTXNS WITH RED/WHITE SIGN MARKERS, AND MARK ALL TXWY-RWY XING AREAS DURING CONSTRUCTION WITH HOLD SHORT SIGNS FOR FURTHER CLRNC.
