Narrative:

ATC clearance to cross 70 mi out of cgt at 17000 ft missed altitude by 600 ft when rest altimeters from 29.92 to 30.43 when passing through 18000 ft. Cut the crossing restriction too close and did not figure in the altimeter change. Tried to increase rate of descent but didn't quite make it.

Narrative: ATC CLRNC TO CROSS 70 MI OUT OF CGT AT 17000 FT MISSED ALT BY 600 FT WHEN REST ALTIMETERS FROM 29.92 TO 30.43 WHEN PASSING THROUGH 18000 FT. CUT THE XING RESTRICTION TOO CLOSE AND DID NOT FIGURE IN THE ALTIMETER CHANGE. TRIED TO INCREASE RATE OF DSCNT BUT DIDN'T QUITE MAKE IT.
