Narrative:

I was working local control. I cleared air carrier X light transport. For takeoff runway 35 after I thought receiving a verbal crossing complete acknowledgement on air carrier Y from my ground controller. I visibility scanned the departure area and in my opinion there was no traffic. Air carrier X aborted takeoff asking if someone was crossing the runway. I taxied air carrier X off the runway and continued with other traffic.
