Narrative:

Aborted takeoff runway 10L at pdx. When the throttles were advanced for takeoff a CAWS aural 'flaps' warning sounded. A quick adjustment of the flap dial did not rectify the situation so I rolled to the first turnoff, minutely adjusted the flap dial on the taxiway and taxied back for an immediate takeoff. The CAWS (cockpit aural warning system) is checked on taxi out in conjunction with several other items on one checklist call. Perhaps a dedicated item to CAWS check would prevent this.
