Narrative:

We were cleared onto the runway and as I taxied the aircraft into position I saw the master caution blinking. Upon looking up at the caution panel I saw; and the first officer confirmed; that the #1 hydraulic fluid hot caution light was illuminated. We then advised ATC we needed to cancel our takeoff clearance and taxi off the runway. We were cleared to turn off so we could run the checklist. After running the checklist I decided to give dispatch a call and talk with maintenance. They told me that the aircraft needed an inspection so return to the gate. After returning to the gate and all passengers deplaned I went outside to see what maintenance had found. One mechanic said it looked like numerous wiring and harnesses were burned; but I'm not too sure if it was related to the caution light we received.
