Narrative:

We were cleared for, what we understood as, the visual approach to 24R at lax. As we neared the runway, a small aircraft was cleared into position 24R. We initiated the go around procedure when ATC notified us we were cleared to land on 24L. We circled the field and landed with no further incident.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR, WHAT WE UNDERSTOOD AS, THE VISUAL APCH TO 24R AT LAX. AS WE NEARED THE RWY, A SMALL ACFT WAS CLRED INTO POSITION 24R. WE INITIATED THE GO AROUND PROC WHEN ATC NOTIFIED US WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON 24L. WE CIRCLED THE FIELD AND LANDED WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT.
