Narrative:
Advised ontario approach I would cancel IFR and proceed VFR to chino. Ontario said roger. I started out of 5000 and at 3600 ontario asked my altitude and stated that I should not have left 5000.

Title: ONT APCH CTLR COMPLAINS THAT SMA VIOLATES ONT ARSA. SMA HAD CANCELLED IFR, AND BEGAN DESCENT WITHOUT COM.
Narrative: ADVISED ONTARIO APCH I WOULD CANCEL IFR AND PROCEED VFR TO CHINO. ONTARIO SAID ROGER. I STARTED OUT OF 5000 AND AT 3600 ONTARIO ASKED MY ALT AND STATED THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE LEFT 5000.
