Narrative:

While training for a checkride; we attempted to execute the RNAV 17 approach. We discovered that on the last database update from jeppesen; both the GPS approaches for our airport; RNAV(GPS) 17 & RNAV(GPS) 34 had been deleted. There was no notification via jeppesen update or NOTAM that these approaches were not available. Had this been an IFR/IMC arrival; we would have been caught unaware and would not have been able to land at the destination since the only other approach is a VOR/DME and at the time; the VOR was notamed OTS. This has happened to this operator several times to different airports in the last year. Something needs to be done to notify operators when approaches have been deleted from databases and subsequently made unavailable.
