Narrative:

I was flying inbound to bentonville, ar (H00) from the north on kansas city center. At approximately 25 mi north of H00 and descending through about 5000 MSL, kansas city told me to contact memphis center. Upon contact with memphis I was told immediately 'radar contact lost, you are cleared to the bentonville airport, contact fayetteville approach on frequency 1XX.X.' I replied that I would like to intercept the 18 DME arc for the VOR/DME C approach. Memphis's reply was 'roger, you are cleared for the approach of your choice, contact fayetteville approach.' upon contact with fayetteville the controller asked my RNAV radial and DME from rogers airport. Not knowing this information, I replied that I was on the XXX radial at 18 DME of the bentonville VOR and that my intentions were to complete the VOR/DME C into bentonville. At this point the fayetteville approach controller demanded to know who cleared me for the approach. My response was that memphis center had cleared me. Strange as it seems, this was not the end. I had to tell this controller several more times before I cancelled IFR that I was cleared to the airport, that memphis had cleared me, and that I was on the 18 DME arc. I feel that this is a case of very poor coordination between kansas city, memphis and fayetteville. Also the approach controller was very much behind the situation and getting further behind all of the time. I had to cancel just so I could continue flying the approach (it was VFR) without his repeated questions and confusion distracting me from my duties of flying the airplane. I hope this was an isolated problem at this facility, if not some bad things are going to happen sometime.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING INBND TO BENTONVILLE, AR (H00) FROM THE N ON KANSAS CITY CENTER. AT APPROX 25 MI N OF H00 AND DESCENDING THROUGH ABOUT 5000 MSL, KANSAS CITY TOLD ME TO CONTACT MEMPHIS CENTER. UPON CONTACT WITH MEMPHIS I WAS TOLD IMMEDIATELY 'RADAR CONTACT LOST, YOU ARE CLRED TO THE BENTONVILLE ARPT, CONTACT FAYETTEVILLE APCH ON FREQ 1XX.X.' I REPLIED THAT I WOULD LIKE TO INTERCEPT THE 18 DME ARC FOR THE VOR/DME C APCH. MEMPHIS'S REPLY WAS 'ROGER, YOU ARE CLRED FOR THE APCH OF YOUR CHOICE, CONTACT FAYETTEVILLE APCH.' UPON CONTACT WITH FAYETTEVILLE THE CTLR ASKED MY RNAV RADIAL AND DME FROM ROGERS ARPT. NOT KNOWING THIS INFO, I REPLIED THAT I WAS ON THE XXX RADIAL AT 18 DME OF THE BENTONVILLE VOR AND THAT MY INTENTIONS WERE TO COMPLETE THE VOR/DME C INTO BENTONVILLE. AT THIS POINT THE FAYETTEVILLE APCH CTLR DEMANDED TO KNOW WHO CLRED ME FOR THE APCH. MY RESPONSE WAS THAT MEMPHIS CENTER HAD CLRED ME. STRANGE AS IT SEEMS, THIS WAS NOT THE END. I HAD TO TELL THIS CTLR SEVERAL MORE TIMES BEFORE I CANCELLED IFR THAT I WAS CLRED TO THE ARPT, THAT MEMPHIS HAD CLRED ME, AND THAT I WAS ON THE 18 DME ARC. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A CASE OF VERY POOR COORD BETWEEN KANSAS CITY, MEMPHIS AND FAYETTEVILLE. ALSO THE APCH CTLR WAS VERY MUCH BEHIND THE SITUATION AND GETTING FURTHER BEHIND ALL OF THE TIME. I HAD TO CANCEL JUST SO I COULD CONTINUE FLYING THE APCH (IT WAS VFR) WITHOUT HIS REPEATED QUESTIONS AND CONFUSION DISTRACTING ME FROM MY DUTIES OF FLYING THE AIRPLANE. I HOPE THIS WAS AN ISOLATED PROBLEM AT THIS FAC, IF NOT SOME BAD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN SOMETIME.
