Narrative:

Was departing bpt at pm:30 local, and tower was closed. I taxied out behind an small transport being used by a local part 135 operator. Small aircraft announced his intention on CTAF to back-taxi on runway 34 for departure and proceeded to do so. I held short of 34 to give him the entire runway. While small aircraft was back-taxiing on 34, a commuter announced his intention to depart runway 30, and asked the small aircraft on 34 his intentions. No answer from the small aircraft. I responded to commuter, identing myself by position on the field. I further told commuter that the small aircraft on 34 was back-taxiing for departure on 34. Commuter then announced that he was rolling on 30. As he turned his landing lights on, I noticed that the small aircraft was also rolling down 34. I announced on CTAF that there were 2 aircraft departing on conflicting runways. Thank god commuter heard me and aborted his takeoff. Later during my flight, I was able to talk with the pilot of the small aircraft on 122.7. After I told him what had happened (he never saw commuter), he admitted that he was not monitoring the CTAF at bpt after his first (and only) call. I hope he now has an appreciation of the consequences of his actions.

Title: SMA PLT STARTS TKOF AFTER TWR CLOSED. COMMUTER DEPARTING ON INTERSECTING RWY. THIRD ACFT ANNOUNCES CONFLICT ON CTAF. COMMUTER ABORTS TKOF.

Narrative: WAS DEPARTING BPT AT PM:30 LCL, AND TWR WAS CLOSED. I TAXIED OUT BEHIND AN SMT BEING USED BY A LCL PART 135 OPERATOR. SMA ANNOUNCED HIS INTENTION ON CTAF TO BACK-TAXI ON RWY 34 FOR DEP AND PROCEEDED TO DO SO. I HELD SHORT OF 34 TO GIVE HIM THE ENTIRE RWY. WHILE SMA WAS BACK-TAXIING ON 34, A COMMUTER ANNOUNCED HIS INTENTION TO DEPART RWY 30, AND ASKED THE SMA ON 34 HIS INTENTIONS. NO ANSWER FROM THE SMA. I RESPONDED TO COMMUTER, IDENTING MYSELF BY POS ON THE FIELD. I FURTHER TOLD COMMUTER THAT THE SMA ON 34 WAS BACK-TAXIING FOR DEP ON 34. COMMUTER THEN ANNOUNCED THAT HE WAS ROLLING ON 30. AS HE TURNED HIS LNDG LIGHTS ON, I NOTICED THAT THE SMA WAS ALSO ROLLING DOWN 34. I ANNOUNCED ON CTAF THAT THERE WERE 2 ACFT DEPARTING ON CONFLICTING RWYS. THANK GOD COMMUTER HEARD ME AND ABORTED HIS TKOF. LATER DURING MY FLT, I WAS ABLE TO TALK WITH THE PLT OF THE SMA ON 122.7.
