Narrative:
There were 3 aircraft involved in this incident. Aircraft #2 landed on runway 35R and was told to taxi to an intersection, which was at midfield of runway 35L, and told to hold short of the runway (35L). Aircraft #1 is put in position and hold on runway 35L for previously departed traffic. Aircraft #2, which was the same company as aircraft #2, at this time was landing on runway 35R and was told to report clear of runway 35R. Aircraft #2 was told to cross runway 35 and report clear of runway 35L. Aircraft #3 landed on runway 35R and his initial call after landing indicated he was clear of runway 35L. At this time aircraft #1 was cleared for takeoff on runway 35L. The pilot aborted the takeoff roll because aircraft #2 had not reported clear of the runway. His company with a very similar call sign had made an incorrect call on his initial report.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR ABORTED TKOF BECAUSE OF AN ACFT CROSSING RWY MIDFIELD.
Narrative: THERE WERE 3 ACFT INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT. ACFT #2 LANDED ON RWY 35R AND WAS TOLD TO TAXI TO AN INTXN, WHICH WAS AT MIDFIELD OF RWY 35L, AND TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF THE RWY (35L). ACFT #1 IS PUT IN POS AND HOLD ON RWY 35L FOR PREVIOUSLY DEPARTED TFC. ACFT #2, WHICH WAS THE SAME COMPANY AS ACFT #2, AT THIS TIME WAS LNDG ON RWY 35R AND WAS TOLD TO RPT CLR OF RWY 35R. ACFT #2 WAS TOLD TO CROSS RWY 35 AND RPT CLR OF RWY 35L. ACFT #3 LANDED ON RWY 35R AND HIS INITIAL CALL AFTER LNDG INDICATED HE WAS CLR OF RWY 35L. AT THIS TIME ACFT #1 WAS CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 35L. THE PLT ABORTED THE TKOF ROLL BECAUSE ACFT #2 HAD NOT RPTED CLR OF THE RWY. HIS COMPANY WITH A VERY SIMILAR CALL SIGN HAD MADE AN INCORRECT CALL ON HIS INITIAL RPT.
