Cleared to 6000' on 338 degree radial at 45 NM. At 6800' copilot saw an aircraft to our left. I leveled at 6800' and saw an aircraft pass under the nose (left to right) about 2-300' below us. Boston center (frequency 128.1) saw no one in the area but us. Report to FAA boston center.
