Narrative:

While flying south on V257, we crossed grand canyon at 11500'. We had checked an outdated sectional and saw the special airspace below 9000'. On our return trip we had VFR flight following and the controller advised us that we could only cross grand canyon through special corridors below 14500'. Next time I'll be sure to use the most current sectional chart.
