Narrative:

This situation is more common as time goes by and involves a clearance to fly a certain clearance given by one controller and finding yourself switched to another controller with a different understanding of the clearance given. Inbound to jot VOR we were given a descent from FL270 to 15,000. Clearance was then to turn to 360 degree, direct jot out of FL230. This was given on 125.05. A change to frequency 135.15 and controller asked where we were going. I answered, direct to jot. We were turned to 330 degree and told direct to jot out of FL200 and that that was our original clearance. I replied that it was not our original clearance but I complied with the direct jot out of FL200 as he understood it. Similar occurrences have happened involving these same sectors of chicago center in the past.

Title: CHANGE OF CLRNC UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN CTLRS.

Narrative: THIS SITUATION IS MORE COMMON AS TIME GOES BY AND INVOLVES A CLRNC TO FLY A CERTAIN CLRNC GIVEN BY ONE CTLR AND FINDING YOURSELF SWITCHED TO ANOTHER CTLR WITH A DIFFERENT UNDERSTANDING OF THE CLRNC GIVEN. INBND TO JOT VOR WE WERE GIVEN A DSCNT FROM FL270 TO 15,000. CLRNC WAS THEN TO TURN TO 360 DEG, DIRECT JOT OUT OF FL230. THIS WAS GIVEN ON 125.05. A CHANGE TO FREQ 135.15 AND CTLR ASKED WHERE WE WERE GOING. I ANSWERED, DIRECT TO JOT. WE WERE TURNED TO 330 DEG AND TOLD DIRECT TO JOT OUT OF FL200 AND THAT THAT WAS OUR ORIGINAL CLRNC. I REPLIED THAT IT WAS NOT OUR ORIGINAL CLRNC BUT I COMPLIED WITH THE DIRECT JOT OUT OF FL200 AS HE UNDERSTOOD IT. SIMILAR OCCURRENCES HAVE HAPPENED INVOLVING THESE SAME SECTORS OF CHICAGO CENTER IN THE PAST.
