Narrative:

Advised den approach that we had traffic and airport in sight. They cleared us for visual to 26L, contact the tower at the outer marker. On final we were concerned with possible wake turbulence from parallel approach aircraft and landed uneventfully. Turned off runway and then noticed neither frequency shown in comm radio was for tower and realized I'd forgotten to contact them at outer marker, and had not to my recollection, received landing clearance. No comment was made by tower after landing other than hold short of parallel runway. This was final leg of arduous 2-DAY trip that left the previous afternoon, arrived in miami late with minimum rest period (in fact we had to delay that morning's departure so we could get legal 8+45 block to block rest) that night. On return trip, still under pressure to try and make up lost time (due late departure) and completely 'dropped' the instruction to call the tower at the marker. Need to beware of 'getting homeitis' and more important of how debilitating minimum rest periods can be. You may think you're sufficiently rested, but need to beware of the normal, seemingly easy tasks, that can slip from your conscious habit pattern. Suggest we add 'landing clearance' to our checklists and adopt personal reminder system (as we use with other checklist items that aren't yet accomplished) to verify landing clearance received.

Title: FLT CREW OF MLG FORGETS TO SWITCH TO TWR FREQ AT THE OUTER MARKER AND LANDS WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: ADVISED DEN APCH THAT WE HAD TFC AND ARPT IN SIGHT. THEY CLRED US FOR VISUAL TO 26L, CONTACT THE TWR AT THE OUTER MARKER. ON FINAL WE WERE CONCERNED WITH POSSIBLE WAKE TURBULENCE FROM PARALLEL APCH ACFT AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. TURNED OFF RWY AND THEN NOTICED NEITHER FREQ SHOWN IN COMM RADIO WAS FOR TWR AND REALIZED I'D FORGOTTEN TO CONTACT THEM AT OUTER MARKER, AND HAD NOT TO MY RECOLLECTION, RECEIVED LNDG CLRNC. NO COMMENT WAS MADE BY TWR AFTER LNDG OTHER THAN HOLD SHORT OF PARALLEL RWY. THIS WAS FINAL LEG OF ARDUOUS 2-DAY TRIP THAT LEFT THE PREVIOUS AFTERNOON, ARRIVED IN MIAMI LATE WITH MINIMUM REST PERIOD (IN FACT WE HAD TO DELAY THAT MORNING'S DEP SO WE COULD GET LEGAL 8+45 BLOCK TO BLOCK REST) THAT NIGHT. ON RETURN TRIP, STILL UNDER PRESSURE TO TRY AND MAKE UP LOST TIME (DUE LATE DEP) AND COMPLETELY 'DROPPED' THE INSTRUCTION TO CALL THE TWR AT THE MARKER. SUGGEST WE ADD 'LNDG CLRNC' TO OUR CHECKLISTS AND ADOPT PERSONAL REMINDER SYSTEM (AS WE USE WITH OTHER CHECKLIST ITEMS THAT AREN'T YET ACCOMPLISHED) TO VERIFY LNDG CLRNC RECEIVED.
