Narrative:

We were cleared 'on to hold' for runway 25R at lax, and as we began to taxi to position, all 3 crew members saw an aircraft lined up a couple miles out to, which looked to us as, our runway 25R. The captain slowly taxied to position to line up on centerline to check the other aircraft's position to see if he was actually lined up with runway 25R or 25L. The captain also posed the aircraft so he could immediately taxi off the runway if need be on the opposite taxiway. The captain then asked tower if there was another aircraft cleared to land on 25R. Tower said negative, the aircraft was cleared for 25L. At this time the other aircraft said they we're cleared to land on 25R and had 'emphasized' it because they seemed a little unclear too. Tower at that time said 'negative' they had been cleared to land on runway 25L and then sent the aircraft around. I do not recall hearing the landing clearance for the aircraft that was send around.

Title: ACR TAXIING INTO POSITION NOTED AN ACFT ON APCH LINED UP WITH THE WRONG RWY AND ADVISED THE TWR. TWR INITIATED A GO AROUND TO THE LNDG ACFT.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED 'ON TO HOLD' FOR RWY 25R AT LAX, AND AS WE BEGAN TO TAXI TO POS, ALL 3 CREW MEMBERS SAW AN ACFT LINED UP A COUPLE MILES OUT TO, WHICH LOOKED TO US AS, OUR RWY 25R. THE CAPT SLOWLY TAXIED TO POS TO LINE UP ON CENTERLINE TO CHECK THE OTHER ACFT'S POS TO SEE IF HE WAS ACTUALLY LINED UP WITH RWY 25R OR 25L. THE CAPT ALSO POSED THE ACFT SO HE COULD IMMEDIATELY TAXI OFF THE RWY IF NEED BE ON THE OPPOSITE TXWY. THE CAPT THEN ASKED TWR IF THERE WAS ANOTHER ACFT CLRED TO LAND ON 25R. TWR SAID NEGATIVE, THE ACFT WAS CLRED FOR 25L. AT THIS TIME THE OTHER ACFT SAID THEY WE'RE CLRED TO LAND ON 25R AND HAD 'EMPHASIZED' IT BECAUSE THEY SEEMED A LITTLE UNCLEAR TOO. TWR AT THAT TIME SAID 'NEGATIVE' THEY HAD BEEN CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 25L AND THEN SENT THE ACFT AROUND. I DO NOT RECALL HEARING THE LNDG CLRNC FOR THE ACFT THAT WAS SEND AROUND.
