Narrative:

I was direct to tnp when I was given a re-route. Tnp-V514-V538-gfs(goffs)-las-ZZZ. Read back was given. Upon crossing tnp; I noticed the autopilot did not make the V514 turn to the northeast. I began troubleshooting the problem. I checked to make sure I was in GPS and that was confirmed. ATC then asked me to turn to a heading of 070 to take me toward jotnu. I placed the autopilot in heading mode and dialed 070 into the G500. At this time the aircraft began to porpoise and trim began to pitch up and down. I attempted to disconnect the autopilot with the yoke autopilot disconnect but to no avail. I then was struggling to maintain FL190 and a heading. I happened to be flying with my 15 year old daughter. She was seated in the co-pilot seat. She knew I was having difficulties with the aircraft and she began to have serious anxiety about the situation. While trying to control the aircraft; I was also having to console a distressed passenger who was loudly saying 'I don't want to die.' ATC then once again tells me to turn to 070. I informed them of the situation. I then was able to disconnect the autopilot using the circuit breaker. At this point; I immediately turned to 070 and hand flew the aircraft. I intentionally looked down at the zoomed in GPS to be sure I did not penetrate the sundance/bristol MOA/ or R2501E. According to my GPS the airspace was never penetrated. ATC then asked me to call la center upon landing. I hand flew the aircraft to [destination.] during the approach to landing; I noted that the flaps were inoperative. Upon landing; I lost the pressure on the left brakes. I was only able to steer by pumping the system repeatedly. I was able to taxi to the ramp without ground incident. On the ground; I called [my mechanic] and informed him of the mechanical issues and an appointment was set.

Original NASA ASRS Text

Title: PA46 pilot experiences an autopilot malfunction at FL190. Passing TNP the autopilot does not turn to maintain the airway and when heading mode is attempted the autopilot begins to porpoise. The autopilot disconnect does not work and the autopilot circuit breaker is eventually pulled to disable it. During approach the flaps do not extend and after landing the left brake requires pumping.
