Narrative:
I came quite close to an amphibious small aircraft and he had the right of way since he was on the right.I thought I had a good scan up as I decided to turn left about 45 degrees to fly over a friend's house. Even though the decision to divert over his house was made on the spur of the moment, I know I looked before I turned. However, I probably looked left only, when the traffic was approaching from the right (apparently), so I didn't see him. If he saw me, it must have been a shock since I cut him off and flew right in front of him. I don't know why I didn't see him, but only looking in particular in the direction of turn was certainly a mistake I know now to be especially alert when turning to traffic coming from all directions--not just the direction of turn!

Title: CLOSE PROX GA-SMA GA-SMA WEST OF ORL.
Narrative: I CAME QUITE CLOSE TO AN AMPHIBIOUS SMA AND HE HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY SINCE HE WAS ON THE RIGHT.I THOUGHT I HAD A GOOD SCAN UP AS I DECIDED TO TURN LEFT ABOUT 45 DEGS TO FLY OVER A FRIEND'S HOUSE. EVEN THOUGH THE DECISION TO DIVERT OVER HIS HOUSE WAS MADE ON THE SPUR OF THE MOMENT, I KNOW I LOOKED BEFORE I TURNED. HOWEVER, I PROBABLY LOOKED LEFT ONLY, WHEN THE TFC WAS APCHING FROM THE RIGHT (APPARENTLY), SO I DIDN'T SEE HIM. IF HE SAW ME, IT MUST HAVE BEEN A SHOCK SINCE I CUT HIM OFF AND FLEW RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. I DON'T KNOW WHY I DIDN'T SEE HIM, BUT ONLY LOOKING IN PARTICULAR IN THE DIRECTION OF TURN WAS CERTAINLY A MISTAKE I KNOW NOW TO BE ESPECIALLY ALERT WHEN TURNING TO TFC COMING FROM ALL DIRECTIONS--NOT JUST THE DIRECTION OF TURN!
