New commercial chart with incorrect frequency depicted on chart. Crew used new chart on effective day of changeover. Center controller may or may not have known of frequency error on new charts. The problem occurred in vicinity of sln. The captain was flying with pwe selected on his VOR and first officer selected to sln 115.3 published sln frequency. The captain and first officer noted a continuous flag for sln VOR. After inquiring if sln was on the air from center we got an affirmative response. Flags in view. Captain checked position with hays VOR hys 110.4 and DME reading from pwe VOR and determined a turn was necessary to turn onto arwy. While turning to course line center advised we were south of course and gave us a heading direct to garden city gck. During this time someone came on the air and said, 'try 117.1.' we did and there was sln VOR. There was no traffic conflict involved.
