Narrative:

Crossing from mumbai airspace into omani airspace I attempted to contact muscat control 5 mins prior to marob intersection (the fir). Comercial pages xyz on map listed the primary frequency as 124.55. I attempted this for about 10 mins and then switched to a second frequency listed on the map, and in the NOTAM section of the flight plan. Contact was established on 123.95 at which time muscat control informed us that the frequency on the map had been decommissioned 3 months prior. This information was not listed on any map, or chart NOTAM on enroute NOTAM that I could find. At the time I was attempting contact, a foreign air carrier behind us was also attempting contact on the same old frequency.
