Narrative:

Landed and made left turn onto taxiway east. After the turn we got an EICAS message bag smoke. About the time we canceled the warning indication; the EICAS message disappeared within a few seconds. The bag ext button was also lit. We stopped right there and had the flight attendant go to the back [to] check the peep hole to see if there was any indication of a fire (any smoke; heat or actual fire). She said there was nothing. Ground contacted crash fire rescue equipment and they arrived immediately. They said there did not appear to be any fire but they would use their infra-red sensors to verify. They said there was no indication of a fire. As a precaution; crash fire rescue equipment followed us to the gate and were present when the bag door was opened.
