[I was] cleared to land by tower. Gear down indicator light [had] intermittent problems that day. Gear lever [was] down; [but when] landing [the] gear was not extended.

Title: A M20J pilot landed gear up after putting the gear handle down assuming the gear would be down; but because the gear down indicator was intermittent that day; did not think it unusual that there was no gear down and locked indication.
