Narrative:

On approach to xxl attempting to complete FCC lmp autoland for imminent downgrade aircraft. During final phases of approach rapidly developing rain showers and cells were popping near the approach path. We were working radar and discussing whether or not we could safely complete the approach or break off. We decided it would be safe to continue. During this process I got behind configuring; and did not get final flaps out until 800 feet. We did complete a successful autoland. On the ground we realized we should have gone around as per stabilized approach requires. If this happens to me again I will go around.
