Narrative:

I was the non-flying pilot and the captain was hand flying on the arrival out of 9;000 ft. When the captain called for flaps 1; almost immediately received a le slat disagree EICAS message and a le edge light. Ran the QRH checklist and then landed [with] 20 [degrees] flaps. Landing and taxi to gate was normal. QRH checklist was accurate and easy to use. I would like to recommend that the number of the section be placed on the tab next to the name of the section to make it quicker to identify and get to the proper section.

Title: A B757 EICAS alerted LE SLAT DISAGREE and a LE EDGE light illuminated when flaps were selected on approach. An emergency was declared; the QRH completed; and a normal landing followed.
