Approx 75 NM from departure airport; EICAS annunciated 'left bleed duct leak.' we declared an emergency; completed QRH procedures; and returned. Normal landing was made under max landing weight.

Title: A B757 L Bleed Duct EICAS message appeared approaching cruise altitude. QRH procedures were accomplished; an emergency declared; and the flight returned to departure airport.
Narrative: Approx 75 NM from departure airport; EICAS annunciated 'Left Bleed Duct Leak.' We declared an emergency; completed QRH procedures; and returned. Normal landing was made under max landing weight.
