Narrative:

On taxi out to the runway the flight attendant called the flight deck and said she smelled smoke in the cabin. As soon as she called us we both noticed a strong burning also. We notified ground and they called the fire department. The captain put on the parking brake and shut down the engines. We opened the cabin door and waited for the fire trucks. They checked the interior and the exterior and found no signs of anything. After that maintenance came on board and after finding nothing also from his inspection we started the #2 engine and taxied back to the gate. No cause has shown up so far. Our response was shut down the engines and evacuate.
