Narrative:

Cabin altitude exceeded 10;000 ft at FL340 cruise and cabin altitude warning horn sounded. No other caution or warning lights were illuminated. Packs and bleeds were normal with good pressure. Oxygen masks were donned. Cabin altitude warning and emergency descent QRH checklists were referenced. The cabin oxygen masks did not drop. Requested immediate descent to 10;000 ft and declared an emergency. The flight attendants were notified of the descent and secured the cabin. Straight ahead approach to a nearby airport was completed with an overweight landing of 117;000 pounds. Taxied to the gate; offloaded passengers; and waited for swap before proceeding on to our filed destination. No passengers or flight attendants expressed any discomfort or concern and all proceed on to our destination.
