Narrative:
Inbound writeup on left (#1) engine anti-ice (eai) valve. Replaced valve; still failed tests. Checked plug on engine per MEL paperwork; reinstalled plug to check [airfoil/cowl ice protection system (acips) control] cards in card file with avionics. Reopened engine to check lines on eai controller; did not remove plug again per MEL paperwork; as we were getting more messages. Then cowling was closed and aircraft left on trip after logbook was signed. MEL reference chapter 30-4b. Flight crew ran aircraft per MEL and accepted it as good for the trip; aircraft left on the trip.
