Narrative:
Shortly after takeoff when the gear handle was selected up we received a 'gear disagree' audio and visual warning. The left main and nose gear showed 'up' but the right main showed 'dn' in a red box. I ran the QRH 'gear up disagree' procedure and after pulling the manual gear extension; we were able to lock all three landing gear down with proper indications. Upon completing the procedures; we declared an emergency and returned uneventfully to our departure airport.
