Narrative:

While in cruise at FL190; we were alerted by a master warning; triple chime and engine oil aural warnings. I immediately looked at the EICAS; noted zero oil pressure on the left engine and slowly brought the power to idle and simultaneously called for the QRH; which led us to shut down the left engine. We declared an emergency with ATC and diverted to the nearest airport where we landed safely on our requested runway.the flight attendant and our passengers were advised of the diversion with no specific details as to the nature of the emergency. The company was advised via ACARS with short details. Once [we were] at the gate we coordinated with dispatch and maintenance and the passengers were deplaned and handled by the agent.
