Narrative:

When landing the nose of the aircraft was lifted by a sudden gust of wind allowing the aircraft to lose airspeed and lift at a critical point in the landing process. As this happened quickly and unexpectedly attempts at compensating by adding power were not effective enough to prevent the aircraft from dropping a short distance to the runway. This resulted in a collapse of the right main landing gear and the plane left the runway to the right. There was little time to employ corrective action; and the age of the aircraft was probably a factor in the gear failure.
