Narrative:

Acknowledged an ATC clearance to 'descend to FL240.' copilot read back the clearance and I began the descent. As we descended thru 39600' (from FL410) the controller questioned our altitude. We said we were at 39600 descending to FL240. The controller said the clearance was for air carrier ab flight xyz. We were air carrier circuit breaker flight xyz. The controllers must listen better!

Narrative: ACKNOWLEDGED AN ATC CLRNC TO 'DSND TO FL240.' COPLT READ BACK THE CLRNC AND I BEGAN THE DSCNT. AS WE DSNDED THRU 39600' (FROM FL410) THE CTLR QUESTIONED OUR ALT. WE SAID WE WERE AT 39600 DSNDING TO FL240. THE CTLR SAID THE CLRNC WAS FOR ACR AB FLT XYZ. WE WERE ACR CB FLT XYZ. THE CTLRS MUST LISTEN BETTER!
