Narrative:

Enroute to chs; we picked up the ATIS about 200 nm out. The ATIS was reporting that the airport was closed from xa:50-xc:00Z; with no other information. Thinking that I missed something; I checked the notams in the dispatch release. There were no notams that contained that information. This was about xb:05Z. I then contacted the dispatcher. They didn't know anything about this either. ATC confirmed the closure due to the air show at chs. We were about 30 minutes away from the airport; and we were eventually issued a holding clearance for about 30 minutes of holding until the airport reopened. We had enough fuel (luckily) and was able to land without a problem.the lack of transmission of the NOTAM. I'm not sure if it was issued but we didn't get it; or if it was never issued. Would have been nice to know before I left.
