Narrative:
I was working the 3rd local position; departing runway 32L. Traffic was landing on runway 9R. I put the erj into position on runway 32L at T10 intersection waiting for the aircraft on the 9R final to pass through the departure corridor before I cleared the erj for takeoff. I was watching the 9R arrival and cleared the erj for takeoff when the 9R arrival passed through the departure corridor. As the erj began his take off roll; the asde-X alerted; 'warning; runway 32L occupied.' I then looked at the asde-X display and saw that the erj and the 9R arrival were now red indicating that the 9R arrival was on runway 32L; however the 9R arriving aircraft's asde-X tag was east of runway 32L. I confirmed this by looking out the window and visually saw the 9R arrival short final for runway 9R; well east of the 32L departure corridor. The asde-X alerted when there was no conflict.
