Narrative:

Aircraft X was operating in an ir route; which takes the aircraft into another center. I think it requires a hand off; and then a hand off back into our facility. The exit point of the route is inside sector xx. The aircraft called me up exiting the route and there was no information in uret displayed; or a data block in our airspace to pull up. I was able to determine there was a flight plan in the system; and eventually was able to get the aircraft tracked up and work on his IFR route clearance after the exit. Recommendation; the track not being handed off; seems to keep uret from tracking/populating the flight plan into subsequent sectors. The functionality is suspect.
