Narrative:

Jnu ATCT did not switch the ASOS voice to the on position at tower closure. Jnu AFSS is unable to turn off the ATIS and turn on the jnu ASOS. The last ATIS WX and altitude setting will broadcast until jnu tower opens. I alerted zan; they advised traffic the recording was hours old and not current. It is very important that the pilot not reset their altimeter to the new altitude setting while on the approach into jnu. Jnu has an lda approach that is not aligned with the runway because of mountainous terrain. An altitude setting error could cause the pilot to impact the hillside; trees or other obstacles. The voice switch problem has happened several times in the past and needs to be addressed. Severity increases because of the active tfr off the end of the runway.

Title: JNU AFSS SPECIALIST EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING TWR FAILURE TO SET ATIS AND ASOS FUNCTIONALITY ALLOWING FOR CURRENT INFO AVAILABILITY TO THE USERS.

Narrative: JNU ATCT DID NOT SWITCH THE ASOS VOICE TO THE ON POS AT TWR CLOSURE. JNU AFSS IS UNABLE TO TURN OFF THE ATIS AND TURN ON THE JNU ASOS. THE LAST ATIS WX AND ALT SETTING WILL BROADCAST UNTIL JNU TWR OPENS. I ALERTED ZAN; THEY ADVISED TFC THE RECORDING WAS HRS OLD AND NOT CURRENT. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE PLT NOT RESET THEIR ALTIMETER TO THE NEW ALT SETTING WHILE ON THE APCH INTO JNU. JNU HAS AN LDA APCH THAT IS NOT ALIGNED WITH THE RWY BECAUSE OF MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN. AN ALT SETTING ERROR COULD CAUSE THE PLT TO IMPACT THE HILLSIDE; TREES OR OTHER OBSTACLES. THE VOICE SWITCH PROB HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. SEVERITY INCREASES BECAUSE OF THE ACTIVE TFR OFF THE END OF THE RWY.
