Narrative:

During landing at san we touched down in the overrun just prior to the end of the runway. First officer made the landing. During his final approach, I advised him that he looked low to me and to make sure that he landed onto runway, after the overrun. He commented that he would, but he didn't correct enough and he touched down a few feet prior to the while line. I would like to see the VASI adjusted at san to guide pilots closer to the 1000' marker on the runway.
