Narrative:

This report is only for the purposes of reporting a hazardous situation at O'hare on the ground. This is caused by some very bright area illuminating lamps (probably mercury-vapor) that blind pilots taxiing at night and destroys night vision. These lights are mounted on one tall pole and there are 3 or 4 lamps pointed in different directions. The area illuminated is a baggage cart and cargo container storage or holding area located between the 'outer-cargo' taxiway, and the 9R/27L parallel taxiway just east of the 'north-south' taxiway and west of the 'branch' taxiway. One light points directly at aircraft taxiing eastbound on 9R parallel for takeoff on runway 27L or 22L. This is very bad!
