Narrative:

I crossed hold short line before contacting tower. I believe the location of the line was unusual and partially obscured by a strip of new asphalt across the taxiway; possibly where a previous hold short line had been. I discovered I crossed the line when tower so advised. I was still far from the runway. Was advised to complete run-up and depart. I departed without incident.

Title: PA27 pilot reports crossing the hold line for Runway 24 on D Taxiway at BDR inadvertently due to its great distance from the runway.

Narrative: I crossed hold short line before contacting Tower. I believe the location of the line was unusual and partially obscured by a strip of new asphalt across the taxiway; possibly where a previous hold short line had been. I discovered I crossed the line when Tower so advised. I was still far from the runway. Was advised to complete run-up and depart. I departed without incident.
