Narrative:

A C182 holding in position runway 35R with an aircraft on a 2 mile final and one on landing roll out. Ground control coordinated a crossing clearance at the departure end of runway 35R. Local control approved it and advised a cessna would be holding in position on runway 35R. Local control cleared the C182 for an immediate take off after the landing roll out traffic exited the runway. Ground control had already issued the crossing clearance to the partenavia and was across the hold short line. As the C182 began take off roll local control canceled the C182's takeoff clearance and told him to hold his position. The partenavia exited runway 35R and local again cleared the C182 for takeoff. Recommendation; have a larger tower memory aid; we use what looks like a hockey puck. Maybe if it was a little larger local trainee would have noticed it.
