Narrative:

Positioned aircraft at security deplaning area. Shutdown inboard engine. Deplaned passenger. Restarted to repos aircraft to gate area. Turning radius on aircraft limited due to manual steering and wet ramp area. Wingtip clipped terminal window. Shutdown aircraft and tug/tow bar used to relocate aircraft. Aircraft suffered minor damage (broken lens cap) emergency crews removed remainder of window to free aircraft. Lack of real guidance, ie, a lead in taxi line, for proper spacing would be of great assistance and should avoid future occurrences. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: aircraft taxi in close because bringing passenger from non screened airports to secure area for boarding connecting flts. Want them to pass through security check. Incident has caused institution of new procedures. Now have taxi line painted on surface plus ground crew guidance. Much more comfortable situation.
