Narrative:
I had just post briefed RA81. I was still in the area when sector 86 needed an RA; so the controller moved from RA81 to RA86; and closed RA81. The traffic at 81 was diminishing but I felt I should do the right thing and stay a little longer so I plugged back into RA81 since I still had the picture. I called sector 87 for some coordinations. I passed several estimates. When I passed aircraft X I said 'aircraft X jimac E1701 FL370 M85.' aircraft X (87) said aircraft X E0105 FL370 M85. I did not pick up the fact that he said the wrong time. It was busy and I really don't know why I did not catch their mistake. Atops does not have a logic check so it took the erroneous time. There was an opposite direction aircraft Y at FL370 going to jimac. I was no longer at the sector when it happened. The supervisor advised me after they pulled the tapes. If atop had a logic check this would not have happened.

Title: ZNY Controllers described a loss of separation event involving the ATOPS equipment when an incorrect time estimate was not caught; the reports suggest ATOP equipment should have a logic check to prevent same type incidents.
