Narrative:

Right main landing gear green light did not illuminate to warn landing gear was extended. Executed missed approach and requested wide vector or holding clearance. First officer flew aircraft while I replaced light bulbs to no avail. Light holder came out of panel, loose in hand. Sent F/east to cabin for visual check through in floor viewer. Engineer had extreme difficulty finding viewer. Had problem with carry on baggage and carpet. Determined gear was down and locked made normal landing. F/east was fairly new, about several months on job. Recommend more hands on initial and recurring training in this area, and less cement and carpet this area of floor.
