Narrative:

On approach lost all B hydraulic system fluid and little to no pressure. [We] requested extended vectors to comply with complete QRH and procedures. During the QRH and procedures was advised by lead flight attendant that a passenger was having heart trouble and trouble breathing. Upon completion of QRH and flying the aircraft; spoke to ATC and declared the emergency and setup for straight in final for ILS. Landed on profile as per full QRH procedure and complied uneventfully with no further assistance required regarding B hydraulic issue. However; taxied to gate and EMS removed ill passenger with heart trouble and took him to hospital. On arrival advised by maintenance representatives that the B hydraulic system mechanical pump failed/leaked somehow thus resulting in 0 qty and low pressure.

Title: B737 Captain experienced system B hydraulic failure during approach. While complying with QRH procedures and configuring for landing the reporter was informed by the Lead Flight Attendant that a passenger was having a heart attack. The flight landed and the ill passenger was removed by EMS personnel.
