Narrative:
Taxi crew found metal in left nose gear tire. I went out to inspect tire and found a deep cut in the tire. The tire had to be replaced. I pulled up the paperwork (maintenance manual) MM 32-45-02 and reviewed the paperwork before replacing the tire. Paperwork was with me at all times. I did have problems with the tire dolly. It would not lift the tire up to the axle and had to get help getting the tire up to the axle. I cleaned the axle and the spacer was in place. I put the [axle] nut on and torqued to 80 foot pounds; backed nut off and re-torqued to 34 foot pounds. I forgot to put on the axle washer.
