Narrative:

I was flying with my spouse at 5500 ft when I felt a vibration. As I scan the console I see the 'gear in transition' light is in. I slow the plane down and alert approach who is monitoring me for a flight following. Later they hand me off to tower. I am able to reset a 25 amp blown circuit breaker for the landing gear and move the gear to the up position. A minute later I feel the same vibration and the 'gear in transition' light is on again. I wait until I am a few minutes from the airport and ask my spouse to reset the blown circuit breaker again. I immediately bring the gear up and then down. I now show 3 green lights for the landing gear which is normal and indicates that it is down and locked. Tower suggests that I do a fly-over the runway at 300 ft to verify landing gear position and I comply. After tower verified all gear in the down and locked position they ask my intentions and I indicate that I will make a right turn and come around for the runway; the current wind favored runway. The landing is normal. Three vehicles (fire; etc) follow me to the ramp. They take my drivers license and pilots' license info. No emergency was ever declared. At the FBO I inquire about local airplane mechanics. There are none on the island. After speaking with two other pilots in the lounge and our mechanic from home base; they all suggest that I leave the gear down and fly the plane home. Later that day I comply and have a slower but uneventful flight home.
