Narrative:

We were flying the airbus with the new FMGC. As we approached watsn intersection; ATC cleared us after watsn to halie direct ord. After that was installed; instead of clearing the rest of the arrival; we selected 'no star' and inserted. When we did that; everything after watsn was deleted. We were able to reload the new clearance before reaching watsn; but the old box would have just cleared the remainder of the star and left the entered reroute. Either this is a software glitch; or it should be added to a bulletin update on the differences between the two boxes.

Title: A319 Captain experienced undocumented differences between a new FMGC program and the one he is familiar with.

Narrative: We were flying the Airbus with the new FMGC.
