January 2010; I was notified by maintenance control that I had deferred the captain and first officer's window heat terminal protection cover improperly; using carrier maintenance procedures. He said I should have done an interim repair.

Title: A Line Mechanic reports he was notified by company Maintenance Control that he should have performed an interim repair on a B777-200 for the missing High Voltage window Heat Terminal block protective caps at the Captain's and First Officer's forward windshield. The caps had been deferred under a company procedure.
Narrative: January 2010; I was notified by Maintenance Control that I had deferred the Captain and First Officer's window Heat Terminal protection cover improperly; using carrier Maintenance Procedures. He said I should have done an interim repair.
